Deck Assembly Group Leader - Rail Install
JOB SUMMARY: Polaris Marine Group Leaders are generally working group leaders, and are expected to ‘lead from the front”. Polaris Marine Group Leaders are expected to: Have a working knowledge of the assembly/manufacturing processes that their individual groups are expected to perform. Have the ability to proficiently perform each task within their group in a safe manner and be able to train their group members to do the same. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : · The Safety of the members of their group · Housekeeping in their team’s area of operation · The cross training of their group members. · The quality of the product produced by their group’s members. · Problem solving within their groups and, when required, utilizing fellow Polaris Marine associates outside of their group as a problem-solving resource. · Communications with their Supervisor concerning issues with which their supervisor should be aware of · Have the ability to communicate efficiently with others in a practical/working environment. · Know how to use safely and efficiently: Hand Tools, Air tools (Drill, Screw Gun, Grinder, Router, measuring tools, etc. and have the ability to evaluate and teach others how to safely use tools required to be used. · Know how to read floor plans, dimensioned prints and diagrams and to have the ability to evaluate and train others in the same · Train members of their team in Polaris Marine Standards to ensure that the end user (customer) receives a safe and functional product that has been produced to the high standards set forth by Polaris Marine. Requirements + Has demonstrated the ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday. + Has demonstrated the ability to work in a non-airconditioned environment. + Must have the ability to lead team members, which includes being able to work with other Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Engineers to achieve daily work targets. + Has demonstrated the ability to learn or prior experience with common hand tools to assemble parts. + Must have the ability to step in and lead the work zone when required. The employee will already have demonstrated the ability to listen, understand, and follow the instructions and coaching feedback provided by Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and/or Plant Manager. + Has demonstrated the ability to understand importance of following work instructions to compete the daily work targets with zero defects for at least the jobs in their respective work zone or work area of focus. This includes developing rework processes and performing rework. Other Skills/Abilities + Leads small scope continuous improvement initiatives (i.e. Kaizen, 5S.) + Has demonstrated the abilityto professionally and effectively communicate with Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Plant Manager. + Has demonstrated the ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules. + If primary language is non-English, the employee will be bilingual with understandable English speaking, reading, and writing ability.
