DCM SSA Origination and Syndicate - Executive Director

About this role:

This is a senior role within EMEA CIB, responsible for working with public and private side stakeholders to help develop a global SSA DCM and Syndicate franchise. The role will require a combination of business build, origination and syndication activities. The candidate will work on primary origination and syndication of high-quality bonds with Global SSA clients initially in USD, whilst looking to build credibility to expand into EUR and GBP markets. In addition to origination and syndication opportunities of public deals, the individual will collaborate with colleagues on the origination of private placement business and securing derivative opportunities related to public and private deals. The position could be based in Paris or London.


In this role, you will:

Take a targeted and methodical approach to identify and enfranchise key regional SSA DCM clientsCollaborate closely with all SSA stakeholders on the development of holistic rates relationships with these clientsDevelop a leadership role in the origination and syndication with Global SSA clients   Develop and deliver market leading insights to SSA clients globallyBuild a strong network within the CIB unit, both International and the US, proactively find opportunities where you can give value back into the franchiseProactively engage with internal and external stakeholders in order to identify, develop and execute upon opportunitiesLead engagement with clients in order to deliver analysis and contentResponsible for working on client projects autonomously, from conceptualizing and generating analyses, evaluating the risk and opportunities, engaging with the appropriate internal coverage and product partners and preparing materials and delivering the content to clientsTake an active role in the development of junior talent


Required Qualifications:

Experience in Investment Banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Preferred Qualifications:

Existing strong relationships with the key community of in particular with EMEA SSA issuer clientsStrong knowledge and experience of syndication activities across USD, EUR and GBP productsStrong understanding of derivatives; ability to lead execution alongside of the derivative trading teamStrong understanding and adherence to all relevant area of banking regulationsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsEntrepreneurial / lateral approach to identifying client opportunitiesWillingness to take on significant responsibilityAbility to articulate issues, risks and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and managementAbility to work effectively both in larger groups on complex projects but also be independently motivated as a self-starter on other projectsExperience of producing marketing materials, documents and pitch materials, including both client specific presentations and general information materials for broad distribution both internally and externallyDesire to collaborate and partner with team members to deliver exceptional client contentStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsCertified person under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime or equivalentFluency in English;  additional European language skills (e.g. French) are a positive


Job Expectations:

The successful candidate must have the relevant AMF certification and must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role, and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis.

We are open to qualified candidates based in London or Europe who are willing to relocate.
