DCI/Repair Technician

Role Summary:

The DCI Repair Technician is responsible for performing assembly and start-ups of rotating equipment, especially high energy pumps driven by electric motors, with the use of basic knowledge of fluid flow and hydraulics likewise will have active participation in RSPA (Safety Review and Pre-Start) processes, will be in charge of performing assembly vacuum testing and start-ups to electric motors.

With the experience gained in OEM pump repairs in some relevant size workshop, he/she will be in charge of ensuring on-site repairs are carried out to API, ANSI design pumps as he/she should be familiar with the metallurgy fundamentals and standards of the norms as well as the clearances and tolerances applicable to this type of equipment, especially in horizontal multistage, vertical, OH, etc. pumps.


Responsibilities:

Will be Leader in Safety hygiene and environment, must comply with the rules, procedures and regulations in force with active participation in the processes and safety meetings of the client and internal Flowserve.

Will review and verify the operating patterns and performance of pumps and purchase it with the design conditions and in turn identify problems and deficiencies of pumping systems as well as their correction if possible.

Lead work team.

Will perform Vibration Analysis as well as interpretation and analysis of deterioration patterns and in order to perform corrective actions such as equipment alignment, lame leg check, verify shaft deflection, eccentricity in bearing housing, alignment and parallelism of flanges and piping, purging and venting of pumps, as well as knowledge in instrumentation and control such as those found in process plants, corrosion, etc. And will verify points of interest and equipment connections at customer's facilities.

You will perform component identification, site inventories, submit reports on components/parts and missing items as well as field reports on findings, progress and problems presented in the activities performed with clear and precise actions and recommendations in order to minimize efforts for the implementation of the same.

Must be able to manage time and schedules efficiently.

Will represent Flowserve corporation in a professional manner, will make correct use of the tools and elements that the corporation gives him/her in order to perform the assigned work.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Mechanical, Industrial Engineer or similar career with at least 5 years of experience and technicians with field experience in pumping equipment and systems, mechanical seals, bearings and lubrication system of at least 10 years.

Knowledge in Rotating Equipment, Drivers, High Energy Pumps, Hydraulic systems, shop experience and Vibration Analysis.

General knowledge and understanding of hydraulic properties, physics - chemistry and fluid theories.

Specific knowledge of pump models and mechanical seals as well as their designs, models and theories of operation.

Knowledge of piping schedules and pressure relationships.

Able to read and interpret blueprints.

Skills in assembly and disassembly of equipment (centrifugal pumps).

Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
