Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor leads and performs complex maintenance on automated conveyor, mobile equipment, and machinery at the Distribution Center.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Ensures that all mechanical equipment at DC is functioning at optimal performance levels.
• Effectively identifies mechanical problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex.
• Leads complex maintenance tasks, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.
• Provides electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance
• Supervises other mechanics and assists with repairs & maintenance.
• Coordinates with vendors on repairs and preventative maintenance
• Keeps records of all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures; maintains maintenance logs and work orders.
• Log all service work performed, downtime during repair, and account for equipment service requests.
• Practices safe work habits and abides by the safety rules in accordance with the safety policies set forth by At Home.
• Maintains spare parts inventory.
• Processes warranty claims on parts meeting the requirements.
• Performs inventories on spare parts maintained in stock as required.
• Provides training and guidance that encourages the steady growth and development of capable, contributing associates.
• Identifies and promptly resolves mechanical problems which prevent the DC from meeting goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to degree or combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
• 2 years of previous leadership experience as a Maintenance Supervisor
• Four or more years of conveyor maintenance, racking, and mobile equipment repair experience preferred
• Knowledge of warehouse operations in a distribution environment preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with subordinates & managers
• Ability to lift 75 pounds required
• Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
• Preferred knowledge of electronic components and ability to read related schematics.
• Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
