A Brief Overview
The Distribution Center Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and accurately removing and/or storing inventory using heavy equipment machinery. Equipment Operators will operate cross-functionally throughout the distribution center to ensure efficient running of the distribution center in order to meet customer needs. Leadership Responsibilities
· This position does not have people leadership responsibilities.
What You'll Do
· Put-away palletized units by raising forks for placement into high racks
· Pick palletized units and stages for inbound and outbound shipments
· Inventory materials and record weight of product via an RF system
· Load or unload material onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device
· Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
· Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operation
· Transport resolutions to designated area
· Adheres to all company policies and procedures
· Embodies and demonstrates company ethics and values
· Abides by all federal, state and local laws
How You'll Be Successful
· Knowledge of SAP and WMS
· Knowledge of operating and controlling forklift equipment
· Skilled at operation and control of forklift equipment
· Able to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
· Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
· Able to perform job in an efficient manner.
· Manual dexterity required: Must be able to have manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms
· Must be able to see, hear, speak and read in order to communicate with other employees and/or other customers.
· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, frequent lifting
· Must be able to count
· Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
· Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
What You'll Need
· H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience preferred
· 2-3 years driving experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment required
· Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
