DC - Asst GM
The Assistant General Manager position is responsible for partnering with the DC General Manager in achieving the safety, operational and financial objectives for the Distribution Center. This role will lead through others to develop a safe and efficient operation, as well as building a strong culture across all teams.  Working closely with the General Manager, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a multi-shift, fast-paced distribution center with both automated and manual functions.  Key Roles and Responsibilities In conjunction with General Manager and key support partners, this role oversees DC performance to ensure required levels of safety, culture, productivity, and organizational objectives are met In collaboration with the entire distribution leadership team, determines the department’s labor needs, work schedule and adjust accordingly when appropriate to best manage the department’s payroll expense plan  Provides operational knowledge and a thorough understanding of all company communication and vision with Supervisors through regularly scheduled meetings Oversees and directs 8-10 Supervisors, as well as 175 - 250 team members/temp workers  Maintains and promotes a clean and safe work environment for all employees Develops and maintains a great culture by growing and developing leaders, seeking and acting upon feedback through regular roundtables and providing frequent and transparent communication across the entire team Evaluates all company and distribution reporting and metrics and applies that knowledge to drive efficiencies throughout the operation  Assists General Manager with budgets and long-range planning Leads, coaches, trains, and develops all distribution employees by providing real time feedback and creating development plans  In conjunction with the General manager, reviews, analyzes, and partners with Distribution Operations to develop the most safe, efficient, and effective processes.

 


 

 

Qualifications and Competencies Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution senior leadership role  College degree preferred Strong background in supply chain systems (i.e. WMS, MHS, YMS) Must possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Must possess strong leadership and employee relations skills  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Ability to work a flexible schedule, as business requires
