DB2 Database Administrator

**CTG is seeking to fill a DB2 Database Administrator opening for our client in Manhattan, NY.**
**Location:** Manhattan, NY
**Duration:** 6 months
**Duties:**
+ Install, configure, and tune DB2 v10 (or higher) databases on IBM z/OS platforms.
+ Support application development teams through release migrations and data fixes.
+ Define and execute database recovery functions.
+ Perform standard tuning procedures including runstats and reorgs.
+ Author and validate comprehensive database process documentation.
+ Identify and implement improvements to existing DB2 programs.
+ Communicate detailed migration plans and coordinate with Technical Support for production migrations.
+ Assist with system tool upgrades and actively participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
**Skills:**
+ Proficiency with IBM IMS V12 or higher.
+ Expertise in DB2 database administration tasks including backup/recovery, reorganizations, and troubleshooting.
+ Hands-on experience with CICS Transaction Server.
+ Ability to author REXX scripts and troubleshoot assembler code.
+ Strong debugging skills for DB2 embedded in COBOL programs.
+ Competence in designing solutions using Oracle Transparent Gateway.
+ Ability to design, develop, and implement BMC BPPM Monitoring solutions.
+ Experience with installation and troubleshooting of IBM Tivoli LDAP on AIX.
+ Familiarity with IBM InfoSphere Replication Server for data propagation.
+ Experience with DB2 on AIX platforms.
+ Strong understanding of enterprise-scale financial and payroll systems using 3rd party software frameworks.
**Experience:**
+ Demonstrated history of supporting DB2 environments on z/OS.
+ Experience working with large-scale, enterprise-wide applications, particularly payroll and financial systems.
+ Proven track record collaborating with application teams on integrated database solutions.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related Technical/Business Discipline is required.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
