Daycare Aide Job Details Job Location Pembroke Pines - 1627 Poinciana Drive - Pembroke Pines, FL Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly Description Position Summary: The person is position will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment of the daycare facility Essential Job Functions: + Clean classrooms + Sanitize toys and play equipment + organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas + Observe and monitor children's play activities + Perform housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, dish washing, changing of linens and cleaning duties related to children's care + Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children + participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips + Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas + Maintain a safe play environment + Remove hazards to create a safe environment for children + Model appropriate social behaviors and encourage concern for others to cultivate development of interpersonal relationships and communication skills + Keep records of play and meal schedules + Understands HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights and Confidentiality + Participate in performance improvement activities + Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation + Perform any other duties as assigned Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Certifications/Licensures: + Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required + CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test Education: + A minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) is required Experience and Competencies: + General knowledge of housekeeping procedures is required + Bilingual is preferreD + Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials + Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules + Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things + General knowledge of early childhood development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices + Enthusiastic personality that will engage preschool children + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children + Ability to communicate with teachers, support staff, parents, and students in a positive and constructive way + Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives required + Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems required + Ability to develop meaningful goals and objectives required + Ability to be empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and enthusiastic + Excellent organizational skills + Ability to work well in a team environment + Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality + Understanding of professional ethics, consumer rights, and professional responsibilities + Demonstrates ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and consumers + Demonstrates respect for an individual’s cultural and ethnic values when interacting with staff and consumers + Articulates a working definition of trauma + Understands the impact of trauma + Understands re-traumatization + Ability to create a safe, welcoming physical, supportive, and relational environment for consumers and staff + Demonstrates a high degree of dependability + Maintains a good attendance record + Observes working hours + Shows flexibility and is responsive to requests from supervisor + Works independently with minimal supervision + Exhibits characteristics of good workmanship, and integrity on the job + Work time is always productive + Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, co-workers, external partners, and regulatory agencies + Is courteous to consumers, staff, and all others + Demonstrates tact at the appropriate time + Cooperates with others both within and outside WestCare + Works well with supervisor;
