We are seeking a Databricks Administrator to join Zions Bancorporation. The Databricks Administrator plays a key role in the administration, configuration, and optimization of the Databricks platform within Google Cloud. You will ensure high performance, security, and compliance standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.
Responsibilities:
Manage privileges over the entire Databricks account, workspace level, Unity Catalog level, and SQL warehouse level.Optimize Databricks clusters and troubleshoot complex performance issues.Collaborate with data engineers to integrate Databricks with other data sources, data warehouses, and data lakes.Build and deploy reproducible infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).Evangelize and lead the team in Cloud and Data Operations best practices.Foster collaboration with software product development, architecture, and IT teams to ensure releases are delivered with repeatable and auditable processes.Configure and integrate monitoring and logging solutions such as Syslog, Grafana, Splunk, Logstash.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering plus bachelor’s degree in related field. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.Strong UNIX/Linux systems administration skills, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.3+ years working with Big Data technologies (Cloudera, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark).2+ years of Databricks administration experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS).2+ years of software development experience (Java, Python, Shell Scripting).Experience with CI tools (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).Experience deploying and operating services in the Cloud (Google, Azure, AWS).Strong understanding of Git (branching strategies, handling merge conflicts, pull requests).Strong understanding of networking concepts (troubleshooting, SSL configurations, VPC, subnets).Experience with Docker, Kubernetes is a plusExperience building data pipelines and automating Big Data platform applications/services is a plusExperience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise setting.Variety of data stores/platforms (data warehouses/data marts, NoSQL).
Location:
This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or located at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
Pay Range: $115,000–$160,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)
