Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Database Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Design, implement, and maintain database systems using various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support business operations and reporting needsImplement data models and normalization techniques to ensure efficient data storage and retrievalMonitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategiesEstablish and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryptionPerform regular database backups and develop disaster recovery plansTroubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutionsCollaborate with development teams to integrate database systems with applications and ensure data integrityImplement and manage ETL processes for data warehousing initiativesStay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and best practices, including cloud-based solutions

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in database administration or a related roleProficiency in multiple database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)Strong SQL programming skills and experience with database design and implementationExpertise in data modeling, normalization techniques, and performance tuningIn-depth knowledge of database security best practices and access control mechanismsExperience with database backup and recovery proceduresProficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex database issuesFamiliarity with ETL processes and data warehousing conceptsKnowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database)Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirementsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detailAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsRelevant database certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are preferred
