M&S Consulting is seeking a Database Developer (Senior) to work in Washington, DC. Candidate must possess an active Top Secret/SCI Eligible.
Job Description:
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Minimum of 8 years’ experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.

+ Responsible for SQL and PL/SQL development to include:
+ Developing the backend reports to support user needs
+ Developing custom scripts to automate various database management processes, monitoring and troubleshooting database performance
+ Developing, optimizing, and tuning stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries in support of application development
+ Interfacing with customers, users, and developers as needed; maintaining the database schema, database design, and transition development activities
+ Providing technical subject matter expertise (SME) on ingesting into the database from sources such as file systems, and perform maintenance
+ Performing activities to provision BI databases in support of FRA-C and FDDW.
+ Scheduling patches for deployment leveraging AWS capabilities to minimize production downtime and automate changes.
+ Monitoring database activities and take corrective action to ensure availability, sustainability, and performance of each database instance.
+ Working with application teams to enhance or improve performance of database functions.
+ Developing, maintaining, and enhancing database administration operational documentation.
+ Collaborating across ATS system teams to determine database requirements, designs, and deploy/maintain database instances supporting the systems' requirements.
+ Overseeing database backup, adhering to the prescribed backup strategy.
+ Determining and implement database configurations to improve performance and availability of databases.
+ Maintaining database configurations and Requests for Change using the Atlassian suite of products (e.g., JIRA Agile Project Management) or other project/change management software as agreed to by government.
+ Utilizing cloud services and automation tools to streamline tasks.
