CTG is seeking to fill a Database Administrator - Oracle Enterprise Applications opening for our client in Houston, TX. Location: Houston, TX Duration: 10 months Duties: Administer and maintain Oracle Enterprise Applications databases, including E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Hyperion, OBIEE, WebLogic, and Retek. Perform capacity planning, tool management, database/application tuning, backup and recovery, and patch management. Implement and enforce database/application security, including access management and compliance with best practices. Manage application clusters, load balancing, and deployment processes for highly available infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues through log analysis, monitoring, and root cause investigation. Support migration and data conversion efforts, including data validation and transformation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database/application stability and scalability. Skills: Expertise in WebLogic Server installation, configuration, clustering, deployment, patching, and performance tuning. Strong knowledge of JDBC, JMS, JNDI, and WebLogic security configuration. Advanced SQL skills with experience in stored procedures, triggers, query optimization, and performance tuning. Proficiency with data conversion and migration projects, including large-scale data handling. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments for scripting, monitoring, and automation. Experience: 6–10 years of hands-on experience as a WebLogic Administrator in enterprise environments. Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving production system issues. Demonstrated background in supporting Oracle Enterprise Applications and related technologies. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
