Role Description:
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining database systems. You will work closely with application development teams to ensure efficient database integrations, perform performance tuning, and ensure the security and integrity of database environments. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to mentor junior database professionals while supporting critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze, design, develop, and maintain databases and their integration with other systems. Perform database enhancements, improvements, and query optimizations. Collaborate with application development teams for database design and support production changes. Conduct quality control audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with database dictionaries. Monitor database transaction activity, utilization, and optimize performance, particularly for highly transactional environments. Ensure efficient scheduling and optimization of data replication. Perform root cause analysis and resolve database and application issues. Participate in scheduled and unscheduled system maintenance activities. Provide on-call and off-hours support for database-related issues. Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution. Maintain security standards and ensure database access compliance. Mentor and supervise junior database professionals as needed. Document processes, systems, and best practices for future reference. Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards.

Mandatory Skills:

Strong experience in database design, development, and administration. Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of highly transactional databases. Proficiency in database replication techniques and data integrity maintenance. Solid understanding of root cause analysis and database troubleshooting. Experience with database security, access controls, and compliance. Ability to manage Change Management processes and provide on-call support. Strong experience with disaster recovery practices and implementation.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL). Experience with database automation tools and processes. Knowledge of NoSQL databases and modern database technologies. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for databases.
