Title: Database Administrator
 

The Work  

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The DBA will ensure data integrity, security, availability, and performance across multiple environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in database management, proactive monitoring, and troubleshooting, as well as collaboration with developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

What You Will Do: 

Install, configure, and maintain relational and non-relational database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

Monitor database performance, tune queries, and implement optimization strategies.

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through replication, clustering, and backup/recovery solutions.

Implement database security controls, access management, and compliance policies.

Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching of database systems.

Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, configurations, and procedures.

Support developers with schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.

Automate administrative tasks using scripts, tools, or Infrastructure as Code.

Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support.

What You Will Bring With You:  

U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements 

Candidate must be able to pass successful Public Trust background check 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems or related technology field 

3+ years of experience in database architecture, engineering, or administration. 
 

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:  

Proficiency with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.

Strong knowledge of SQL, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.

Strong understanding of database security, compliance, and data governance.
 

Professional Skills: 

Highly effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively at all levels of the business. 

Organized, detailed oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81,094.00 - $137,860.00
