The Database Administrator will be part of the Group Functions Global Actuarial IT Support and will be responsible for providing service and support to the Actuarial Business, Systems, Platforms and Databases. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and solid operational & vendor management experience to support the IT needs and requirements, non-production and production fixes of the application. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, working with stakeholders and support teams across the globe.

Position Responsibilities:
Perform database tuning and performance monitoringPerform SQL Server installation, upgrade, patches and troubleshootingDevelop maintenance plan for SQL Servers and Application ServersTake immediate actions when database and applications performance issues ariseExecute database and application implementations/deploymentsPerform periodic backups and perform restore procedures if needed or requestedAdministration of third-party applicationsMaintain documentation procedure and standardsAttend to team, client and vendors meetings to discuss plans, growth, changes and issues.Respond to Level 1 and Level 3 Support team concerns / questionsIdentify areas of improvement and collaborate with interested parties to drive change with a focus on efficiency and risk managementRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or any related course2 to 3 years’ experience on IAAS and PAAS databases; SQL Server DatabasesUnderstanding of Relational Database Management System ConceptIntermediate skills in one of the following SQL Scripting, Powershell Scripting, MS SQL, Azure, FTP/SFTP, SSIS, DTA and SQL profilerAdministration and Database Management backgroundExperience in Disaster Recovery Planning & High Availability SetupSQL Server / Database Troubleshooting SkillsKnowledge and application of change & release management, ITIL4 & project managementRelevant experience working in DevOps organizations or idea about DevOpsUnderstanding of software development lifecycleUnderstanding of how technology supports Manulife business strategyAmenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (rotating shift; but flexible depending on business need)Preferred Qualifications:
