We are seeking a talented individual to join our DBA team at Marsh & McLennan Asia Business Services (MMABS). This role will be based in our Pavilion Damansara Corporate Towers, Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.

Database Administrator

An excellent opportunity for a Database Administrator, looking for a long-term opportunity, growth and flexible work environment within the Database Services team. In this capacity, the responsibilities will include creating, supporting and maintaining MongoDB , PostgreSQL and other databases managed by the Database Services team

We will count on you to:

Build/Configure PostgreSQL database cluster and replicationBuild/Configure Mongo RS and shardFine-tune configurations MongoDB and servers for performance improvement.Configure Barman server for new database clusterInstall PostGIS/ pgAudit and other required extensionResponsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.Estimate database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases.Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving).Design and implement DR plans & HA solutions and recommendations.Work closely with the application team to understand what changes are coming in a build/patch/hotfix, do an impact analysis, fine-tune the queries if any.

What you need to have:

At least a Bachelor’s degree with 2 – 4 years working experience Strong DBA Experience MongoDB and PostgreSQLUnderstanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as codeWrite efficient queries.Strong scripting experience - Unix/Shell Scripting, PythonTechnical knowledge of Linux & Windows-based platformsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsLDAPs configuration for authenticationExperience in providing after hours emergency supportWorking on rotational shifts between 6am - 10pm local time, may include Sat/ Sun
