**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Database Administrator Principal** to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. The ideal candidate will be located in the National Capital Region. **Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by fall 2025.** The **Database Administrator Principal** responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Oversee the strategy, deployment, and management of complex, high-security database systems within MARS + Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization. Leads disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data availability + Develops and enforces strict database policies and best practices. Provides expert mentorship to junior database administrators + Coordinates with IT teams to integrate database solutions within broader MARS systems + Keeps current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvements **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Active TS/SCI with Polygraph + Bachelor’s and 9 years or more of related experience; Masters and 7 years or more experience (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree) + Advanced database management, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery operations, high-level maintenance and upgrades, and compliance auditing + Proficiency with various DBMS, familiarity with operating systems + Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams + One of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, SSCP, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) **Additional Openings:** + Database Administrator: Bachelor’s and 2 years or more of related experience; (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree) + Database Administrator Senior: Bachelor’s and 5 years or more related experience; Masters and 3 years or more experience (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree) Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000.
