The Database Administrator is responsible for assisting the Lead Database Administrator with the design, development, maintenance, support, integration, troubleshooting, and all administrative functions of MS SQL databases and servers. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and maintain the performance of database serversDevelop processes for optimizing databasesSet and maintain database standardsManage database accessPerformance tuning of database systemsInstall, upgrade, and manage database applicationsDiagnose and troubleshoot database errorsCreate automation for repeating database tasksBe available for on-call support as neededDesign stable, reliable and effective databasesOptimize and maintain legacy systemsModify databases according to requests and perform testsLiaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practicesGather user requirements and identify new featuresEnsure all database programs meet company and performance requirementsExtract data from primary and secondary sourcesPreparing reports for the management, business, and compliance teamMonitor, maintain and develop routine tasksBackup key developers during their off hoursRequired Qualifications:
At least five (5+) years of experience as a database administrator and/or developerMinimum of two (2) years of experience in MS SQL Server production support, Stored Procedures, and RDBMSMinimum of (2) years of technical experience with SQL ServerExperience with index tuning and query optimizationAbility to work off hours for operational supportPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar disciplinePreferred at least six (6+) years of experience as a database administrator and/or developer Experience with using source control systems such as Azure DevOpsExperience with middleware ETL tools such as Informatica CloudExperience in Data Replication tools such as Qlik ReplicateExperience with cloud database administrationPrevious Oil and Gas industry experienceAbility to multi-task and to work in a team environmentExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot as problems occurRelocation:
