The Opportunity:
The Data and Analytics Governance (DAG) Data Steward is a key role responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and proper usage of data, and enabling effective data & analytics governance practices for Roche’s Digital Backbone; working closely with cross-functional teams in ASPIRE program, Roche Data Insights (RDI) Initiative, Informatics, Enterprise Master Data Management (EMDM) to ensure the consistent application of DAG policies, standards, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Metadata Management & Stewardship
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of business and technical metadata across systems, platforms in the Finance Data Domain.
Maintain and enhance metadata repositories (such as Collibra, SAP Datasphere) to support data discovery, lineage, and understanding.
Data & Analytics Governance Framework and Methodology Alignment
Support the implementation and adherence to Data & Analytics Governance Framework.
Act as a liaison between business and IT teams to ensure metadata practices align with DAG Metatadata Methodology.
Metadata Cataloging & Standardization
Collaborate with data product owners, report owners, data owners and subject matter experts to define, document, and manage metadata catalog.
Promote consistency and standardization of business terms and reference data definitions across the Finance Data Domain.
Data Lineage & Impact Analysis
Establish and maintain end - to - end data lineage to enable traceability, impact assessment, and regulatory compliance.
Identify and resolve metadata gaps that may hinder data quality, trust, or decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
Partner with business and IT teams to drive metadata awareness, adoption, and literacy.
Facilitate training, workshops, and knowledge sharing on metadata tools, processes, and value.
Quality Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Monitor key metadata quality metrics; identify and address issues proactively.
Continuously refine metadata management processes in line with evolving business needs, technological advancements, and industry best practices.
Tooling & Automation Support
Contribute to the optimization of metadata management tools and automation capabilities - metadata augmentation with AI.
Support integration of metadata with broader Data & Analytics platforms and AI - driven insights.
Who you are:
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or analytics roles.
Understanding of information and data architecture and modeling concepts.
Understanding of Data Mesh and Data Products concepts and principles to enable decentralized, domain - driven data ownership and value creation.
Hands - on experience with data governance solutions and tools (such as Collibra).
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at mid-to-senior levels.
Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proactively stay at the forefront of evolving data and AI trends to continuously strengthen and future - proof Roche’s Digital Backbone’s DAG Methodology.

Salary starts from 2300 EUR gross/monthly. Final salary depends on the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
