Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing, collaborative team that’s shaping the organization's generative AI and machine learning strategy. This is a hands-on role focused on natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and AI-driven automation—especially around translating structured data into natural language responses.
You’ll contribute from day one to an exciting early-phase project aimed at transforming manual business processes into AI-enabled, conversational workflows. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, especially around natural language response generation from structured datasets. Lead the conversion of manual workflows and SQL scripts into AI-powered, automated natural language systems. Apply semantic parsing, code-to-text generation, summarization, and other NLP techniques to real-world business processes. Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to architect scalable AI solutions in a cloud-based (AWS) environment. Support early feasibility studies and rapidly prototype AI/ML concepts. Serve as a bridge between AI, engineering, and business stakeholders by clearly communicating complex technical ideas to technical and semi-technical audiences. Evaluate and integrate APIs, LLMs, and third-party AI services into existing infrastructure.
Required Qualifications 6–8 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, and AI-focused roles. At least 2–3 years working with AI/ML techniques, especially natural language processing and large language models (LLMs). Proven experience in: Natural language processing: semantic parsing, code-to-text, text generation/summarization Transforming unstructured data into structured formats suitable for ML SQL and relational data modeling Python for data science and ML tasks Designing AI solutions that bridge business requirements and technical implementation Solid understanding of data engineering concepts—while this is not a data engineering role, the ability to collaborate with engineers and understand data pipelines is crucial. Familiarity with prompt engineering and API integration of AI models. Comfortable working in AWS-based environments.
Preferred/Bonus Skills Hands-on experience with: LLM fine-tuning Embeddings and vector databases Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Agentic AI architectures Exposure to healthcare insurance data (e.g., claims, benefits, enrollment). Experience integrating AI solutions across multiple platforms and systems.

Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
