Our Claims team manages and monitors primary insurance claims portfolios as well as providing claims consulting services to Munich Re’s clients globally. As the team is growing, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated claims data scientist for a period of 12 months to focus on portfolio analysis and developing digital claims technologies for our international team.

Among your varied activities, you will support our claims analyst in decision making, identifying claims leakage, generating claims reports for the business units, and driving a collaborative approach to delivering innovative solutions for Munich Re’s Claims operations and its clients. You will have the opportunity to help drive the digital transformation claims management and support new business initiatives to ensure that MR Claims achieve their Ambition 2025+.

Your Job

Data collecting, mapping, analytics and maintaining consistency across all clients’ data as well as making data accessible to internal partnersValidating metrics and data quality to ensure calculations are accurateCreating reports analysing claims portfolios in support of internal oversite activitiesManaging end-to-end data flow as project manager for our clientsActing as a product owner for innovative claims management toolsCreating roadmaps for the life cycle of data projectsUsing statistical tools to interpret data sets, detecting trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics effortsAssisting with the preparation of loss runs and claims selection for audits and due diligencesParticipating in special projects and ad hoc reporting, as required

Your Profile

Associate degree/BA or equivalent relevant work experienceExcellent command and hands-on experience in Excel, PowerBI, Azure DevOps, VBA and DAX. Knowledge of SQL and R is an advantageGood experience in developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using PowerBIExperience in connecting data sources, importing data and transforming dataKnowledge of primary insurance claims managementStrong and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyExperience as a product owner and proven project track record in generating and implementing business solutionsVery good understanding of processes, workflows and data structuresGood experience in project management in combination with excellent analytical, conceptual and communication skillsAbility to work independently in a dynamic environment, results-driven and practical approach to work productsExcellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skillsProactive in identifying process improvements and adaptive to changeBusiness fluent English; additional European languages are of advantage
