Now Brewing – Lead Data Scientist, Global Store Development! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

This role contributes to Starbucks’ success by leading the development of geospatial data science models that power internal planning and decision support tools for global store portfolio growth and management. You will work closely with product, technology, and store development partners to design and deploy predictive, locally relevant decision support solutions that enable scalable, data-driven, and locally relevant growth strategies across markets.

Geospatial intelligence is at the core of Starbucks’ global expansion strategy. The models and tools you build will empower teams with localized insights, scenario modeling, and predictive recommendations that shape where and how we grow.

As a lead data scientist, you will…

Guide the development of geospatial measurement and predictive models that inform strategic planning and investment decisions across Starbucks’ global store portfolio, from cannibalization to trade area scenario modeling. Serve as a Strategic Analytics Leader partnering closely with product and business teams to guide data-driven decisions from the corporate to neighborhood level. Lead the evaluation and activation of high-value global data assets (internal and external) from vehicle traffic and mobility trends to demographics, points of interest and customer to power next-gen decision support tools. Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, causal inference, clustering) to solve complex, ambiguous store portfolio challenges. Translate insights into action through advanced statistical and data visualization techniques, delivering clear, impactful store growth recommendations that guide strategic decision-making.

We’d love to hear from people with:
