Data Scientist II, Global Strategy & Planning - Uber Eats
### **About the Team:** The Global Strategy & Planning team supports the Delivery Leadership team in defining and executing Uber Eats' global strategy. This role is part of the Competition Analytics vertical, which specializes in developing scalable competitive intelligence practices on a global scale. As the Data Scientist II, you will oversee and scale the existing competitive pricing benchmarking program globally, while also driving independent analyses and initiatives that contribute directly to Uber Eats' affordability strategy. You will balance program leadership responsibilities with hands-on data analysis, collaborating across teams to deliver actionable insights and impactful outcomes. **Responsibilities:** - **Program ownership:** Oversee and scale the competitive pricing benchmarking program globally by defining the roadmap and success metrics, and continuously improving processes to align with Uber Eats' affordability strategy. - **Data foundations & quality:** Design and build robust data workflows and quality checks to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and availability of data pipelines supporting the competitive pricing program. - **Strategic insights:** Conduct independent analyses to uncover new insights, identify opportunities or trends, and develop data-driven recommendations that directly inform global and regional leadership. - **Innovation & process improvement:** Identify opportunities to innovate, automate, and scale competitive intelligence practices while enhancing existing workflows and data infrastructure for greater efficiency ### **Requirements:** - **Experience:** - 4+ years of experience in analytics, data program management, or a similar role, with a proven ability to manage global initiatives. - Strong track record of combining leadership responsibilities with hands-on analytical contributions. - **Technical skills:** - Advanced Python and SQL skills - Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience creating compelling narratives with data - **Problem-solving & adaptability:** - A proactive approach to identifying challenges, solving problems, and implementing innovative solutions in fast-paced environments - High attention to detail, ensuring data quality and accuracy ### **Preferred Qualifications:** - Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) - Experience working with large datasets or in high-growth environments. - Understanding of data modeling and ETL processes. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
