The Job CNN is seeking a Data Scientist within the content analytics team who will be instrumental in using data science techniques to understand content performance and to provide the tools to inform coverage decisions. This individual should be self-motivated, work well independently and as part of a team, and be passionate about what they do . **The Daily** The Data Scientist will + Use supervised and unsupervised techniques to expand the company’s understanding of written and video content + Support the design of A/B tests and other experiments related to content + P artner with en gineers, editorial, and testing teams , and analyze test results to make strategic recommendations on coverage and content promotion + Write efficient queries to pull data for KPIs and metrics to diagnose changes observed in experiments and work with engineering and product partners to resolve potential issues + Capture business requirements for data science solutions and communicate data science output and recommendations to inform business strategies. + Present analysis to business partners and senior leadership and make product launch recommendations + Work with internal or external data partners to process, organize, and connect various data sources, including content metadata, behavioral user data, and third-party audience and customer satisfaction data . + C reate consistent and documented data definitions for key content metrics **The Essentials** + BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research , or other quantitative discipline is required . + 1 + years of experience in data science . + Significant experience using SQL to explore and analyze large data sets in cloud environments + Experience in Python or R + Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools ( such as Looker, Domo, Tableau, etc.) + Experience with providing data requirements while working with structured and unstructured data sets + A proven track record of providing actionable insights that drive business impact in the form of revenue or profit. **Key Contributors to Success** + Logical mindset capable of making appropriate trade-offs between speed and analytical depth without sacrificing quality + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate and influence crossfunctional partners + Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines + Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels + Collaborative approach to partnership + Comfortable communicating with a diverse set of backgrounds, seniority levels, and knowledge sets, particularly in translating complex data concepts to strategic recommendations + A self-starter who is passionate about getting data, using data, making sense of data, and helping others benefit from making analytics driven decisions **Nice-to-Haves** + Experience working with editorial teams + Strong background in experimentation and statistics **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important! Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $82,610.00 - $153,418.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
