Job Description

The Mobility Electronics (ME) division develops new electronic control units (e.g. for combustion engines, comfort functions, airbags) and a wide range of sensors (e.g. for battery charge state, inertial, yaw-rate, pressure, NOx) in close cooperation with manufacturing. These products are engineered to a state-of-the-art level both in technology and reliability and are to be found in cars of a very large group of manufacturers.

Your tasks:

►      Analyze big datasets acquired during the development and production of automotive sensors, choose the proper machine learning algorithm to produce smart solutions and to improve decision making considering customer specifications, reliability theory, automotive standards and legal regulations

►      Design and optimize both data acquisition process and data analytics workflows

►      Initiate open discussions, provide clear communication and answers with your data, deliver results according to project timelines and quality expectations, and create reports in English

►      Continuous improvement of analytic workflows regarding performance based on user feedback

►      Collaborate and share methodologies actively with your internal and external partners in manufacturing, and sensor development (e.g. validation and reliability engineers, data engineers/analysts). Cooperate in an international team.

►      Perform root cause analysis and support corrective measure implementation using 8D, problem solving methods and LL

Qualifications

►      MSc or PhD in computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics or comparable

►      Min. 2+ years of hands-on experience in the field, including applied work in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning in a business context.

►      Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras, PySpark) and SQL

►      Strong background and experience in data mining workflow and development of machine learning algorithms

►      Good communication and presentation skills

►      Excellent statistical, analytical and problem solving skills

►      Version control knowledge (git)

►      Precise working style, good planning, time management and organizational skills, active tracking of tasks

►      Ability to work individually and in international teams, sharing ideas

►      Be self-initiative, open, innovative and have a growth mindset

►      Very good command of English

What gives you further advantages:

►      Relevant experience in engineering field

►      Experience with APIs of the Hadoop ecosystem

►      MATLAB, Scala Programming skills

►      Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)

►      Experience with cloud computing (Azure)

►      Command of German
