Job Description & Summary
Our Financial Crime team is looking for an experienced data scientist who would like to lead one of our data science teams. The team that you would lead currently consists of six data scientists, is based in Prague and is supported by another team of data engineers and a team of data analysts.
How we see the distinction between the roles:
Data analysts analyse data using simple to intermediate statistics, aggregations and visualisations and their work includes assessment of data quality, data cleaning, data transformations and conducting exploratory data analysis
Data scientists are involved as needed in the data analysis described above and add on top machine learning, anomaly detection, advanced statistical analysis and mathematical optimisation to primarily drive improvements
Data engineers set up the necessary infrastructure which includes designing data processing and CI/CD pipelines, setting up tools for data versioning and distributed processing and promoting good software development practices
About the teamWithin the Financial Crime team, we help our clients improve their ways of working and solve technology and business challenges that they face. Our work is supporting banks in detecting money laundering, terrorism financing, drug dealing, corruption and other forms of crime. We help our clients optimise their monitoring systems by building models for behavioural customer segmentation and by parametrising detection rules that identify suspicious activities. Besides this, we also help the banks select and deploy new systems for transaction monitoring. In the last four years, the analytical part of our team has grown from 2 people to 20, and we plan to grow further. We have built a centre of excellence in Prague that serves clients from all parts of Europe and beyond.
