**Required Skills:**
Data Science Manager Responsibilities:
1. Help build and lead data science teams on projects to deliver world-class products.
2. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
3. Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support product launches and data science projects.
4. Analyze data, business intelligence, and statistical results to identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of Meta's product decisions and product launches by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups, including Online Ops, Product, and Engineering teams.
5. Leverage data to provide insights about user behavior and to inform business decisions based on data mining on large, complex data sets and applying concepts in number theory, computational theory, data structures and algorithms.
6. Predict and understand user patterns through analytical and statistical metric analysis.
7. Apply quantitative skills in predictive modeling, business intelligence analysis, A/B tests, regression models, and machine learning to gather data insights.
8. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve data problems and identify trends and opportunities.
9. Build and analyze dashboards, reports and key data sets to empower operations and exploratory analysis.
10. Automate analyses and author data pipelines via ETL framework.
11. Develop strong business partnerships with the Online Ops, Product, and Engineering teams by translating strategic questions into structured analyses, defining success metrics, and developing reporting channels.
12. Build key statistical data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis, and automate analyses.
13. Track current incoming volumes and trends in order to create forecasting models for operational insights.
14. Assist in designing hypothesis testing experiments, analyze data collected and present results.
15. Conduct ad hoc data analysis based on current team needs.
16. Complete root cause analysis of different workflows in order to quantify problems, operationalize goals and identify priorities.
17. Train team members on the use of reporting tools and lead data-driven business case solving courses.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

18. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field and 3 years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation
19. Requires 3 years of experience in the following:
20. 1. Quantitative analysis techniques: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
21. 2. Working with SQL or other programming languages
22. 3. Large scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, or MPI)
23. 4. Statistical analysis using R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or Stata
24. 5. Developing in scripting language: PHP, Python, or Perl
25. 6. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
26. 7. Communicating and presenting results of data analyses with product and leadership teams
27. 8. Working with cross-functional teams to choose/create metrics and set metric goals
28. and 9. Mentoring junior team members and contributing to organizational development

$289,786/year to $325,270/year + bonus + equity + benefits
