How You'll Make a Difference
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity for a Data Quality Engineer. In this role, you will further enhance our data quality and validation framework by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, reliability, and integrity of data across our systems. Working and applying this framework across all data platforms that we utilize, this role will be responsible for communicating the results of our data quality checks to all areas of the business.
Data Profiling and Validation: Analyzing data to identify inconsistencies, errors, and anomalies, and creating and implementing validation rules to ensure data qualityThreat Intelligence: Collect and operationalize threat intelligence including TTPs, IoTs and IoCs from multiple sources and feed that to our SIEM and other tools.Developing Data Quality Frameworks: Designing and implementing processes for data cleansing, standardization, and transformation to improve data qualityKnowledge Transfer: Assist and train other Information Security colleagues in the use of new security tools, emerging technologies, best practices, and the resolution of common security engineering issues. Provide mentoring for more junior colleagues interested in engineeringMonitoring Data Pipelines: Tracking data flows and identifying potential issues in real-time, ensuring data accuracy and reliabilityCollaboration: Working with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data quality standards are metRoot Cause Analysis: Investigating the causes of data quality issues and implementing solutions to prevent recurrenceData Governance: Contributing to the development and implementation of data governance policies and proceduresDocumentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for data quality processes, rules, and standardsVisualization: Creating explorable visuals that clearly communicate our Trust Score for any datasetOther duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time at its sole discretionWhat You'll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field3-5+ years of experience with Python/PySpark, SQL, ETL/ELT, Relational Database, Data Validation, and Cloud Data PlatformsStrong Analytical Skills: the ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and pinpoint areas for improvementProficiency in SQL: essential for querying and manipulating data in relational databasesData Modeling and ETL Processes: understanding of data structures, data modeling techniques, and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL/ELT) processesData Quality Tools: familiarity with data quality tools and technologies (Great Expectations)Programming Languages: Python, PySpark, SQLCommunication Skills: the ability to effectively communicate data quality insights to both technical and non-technical audiencesProblem-Solving Skills: the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issuesAttention to Detail: the ability to meticulously examine data for errors and inconsistenciesKnowledge of AWS Environment (Glue, S3, Lake Formation)Knowledge of DatabricksExposure to and knowledge of SAP / BW / HANA environmentMust be authorized to work in the U.S.We Take Care of the WHOLE You
