Data Quality Analyst - Insurance

As a part of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to be a part of driving IBM’s ongoing transformation as a company that continuously innovates and leads the market. **Your role and responsibilities** In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology. As a Data Quality Analyst, your role is vital in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data within the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. By collaborating closely with insurers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to enhancing industry data analysis capabilities, supporting decision-making processes, and improving overall industry efficiencies. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high-quality data standards and driving data-driven insights. Responsibilities: • Perform thorough analysis of datasets to identify errors, inconsistencies, and data gaps. Implement data cleansing techniques to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Ensure data meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with insurers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to understand data quality requirements, define metrics, and establish data quality performance benchmarks. Communicate effectively to address concerns, provide guidance, and foster a culture of data quality awareness. • Monitor data quality trends, patterns, and potential risks. Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance data quality. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to data quality in the P&C insurance industry. • Continuously evaluate and refine data quality processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Identify opportunities for automation and streamline data quality workflows. Requirements: • Meticulous approach to data analysis, ensuring accuracy, precision, and attention to detail. Ability to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and patterns in large datasets. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with insurers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders. Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms and present insights to diverse audiences. • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify data quality challenges, propose solutions, and implement process improvements. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex data quality issues. • Role is located at the Client Innovation Centre in Bedford, Nova Scotia or Client Innovation Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick By fulfilling your role as a Data Quality Analyst, you will contribute to maintaining the integrity of data within the P&C insurance industry, supporting informed decision-making, and driving overall industry efficiencies. Your expertise and dedication will play a pivotal role in enhancing data analysis capabilities and promoting a culture of data-driven excellence. **Required technical and professional expertise** Experience in the Property & Casualty - Automobile Insurance industry in Canada, with a deep understanding of insurance operations and the insurance industry value chain • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. • Familiarity with the property and casualty insurance industry, its products, processes, and data requirements. Understanding of industry regulations, data management frameworks, reporting standards, and data governance practices is advantageous. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Work closely with insurance companies to ensure accurate and timely data submissions. Collaborate with insurers to identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring adherence to industry standards and guidelines. * Collect, analyze, and interpret data from insurance companies across the P&C insurance industry. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to generate valuable insights for decision-making processes, risk assessment, and industry performance evaluation.
