Data Portfolio Manager
London/Hybrid (2 Days per week)
The Opportunity
QBE Europe is currently recruiting a Data Portfolio Manager to join a well established technology and transformation team in our London office.
The purpose of this role is to oversee the effective management of a suite of Technology projects within the Data & Analytics domain all of which support the maturing of the Data platform and. Data strategy. They will drive the shape and mobilisation of initiatives and ensure successful delivery of projects within time and cost constraints. This involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to shape approaches and solutions, manage project managers, and ensure alignment with business goals. The role also includes managing interdependencies, financials, risks, and issue resolution from scoping through to embedding.
Your new role
Participate in strategic planning with senior business managers to align IT delivery with business needs.
Ensure each project delivers against organisational strategy and objectives.
Provide subject matter expertise on Data Delivery approaches, solutions and continuous improvement
Manage the relationship between the business and IT on assigned projects.
Oversee and guide internal and external project managers in their delivery of Data projects
Oversee the effective delivery of projects to agreed time, budget, scope, and quality ensuring projects adhere to an agreed delivery framework and methodology
Develop and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Identify and manage interdependencies between all initiatives throughout the lifecycle.
Ensure all initiatives are set up with clear objectives supporting the business's strategic imperatives
About you
Essential experience
5 or more years in delivery of Data projects and data solutions
Excellent track record in the disciplines of data project delivery utilising both Agile and Waterfall methods
Excellent grasp of Cloud based Data solutions, architectures and trends
Proven experience of mobilising initiatives and leading delivery teams
Experience of working effectively with all levels throughout an organisation and presenting and communicating to C level
Preferred Work Experience includes:
Experience in insurance
Quality and effectiveness of relationship management.
Senior stakeholder management experience.
Solid experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Significant experience in Project / Programme / Portfolio management.
Significant experience in senior delivery or account management roles in IT.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels in IT and business.
Experience of negotiating and influencing executive level sponsors.
Experience in working in an outsourced IT arrangement and working with SI vendors.
