As a Data Management Associate - Lineage Specialist at JPMorgan Chase within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) – SGO, you will track and document data flow across various systems, ensuring data transparency and compliance. You will work closely with data owners to maintain accurate data lineage records and support data governance initiatives. Your role is vital in adhering to firmwide guidelines for Data Risk and Management policies, contributing to the organization's success.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain comprehensive data lineage documentation for all data assets.Register lineage for applications in the lineage tool.Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.Analyze data lineage to identify potential data quality issues.Provide insights to enhance data management practices.Support data governance initiatives with accurate lineage information.Manage the organization's data glossary and dictionary and collaborate with data owners to understand data flow and dependencies.Focus on data tiering strategies to optimize data storage and retrieval.Conduct training sessions on data lineage concepts and tools.Maintain best practices for data controls and work with Risk Control Managers and contribute to the Firmwide working Group for data controls implementation.Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or related field.2+ years of experience in Data Lineage, Data Cataloguing, Data Tiering, Data Quality, or Data Governance.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large data sets in Excel.Familiarity with PowerPoint basics.Experience with data lineage governance tools like Collibra or Informatica Data Catalog.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.Self-starter with strong time management skills.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).Experience with data lineage governance tools is useful.Ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge.Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services.
