What this position is about - Purpose

Requirements for this role include a university degree in computer sciences or a similar field, experience with modern data governance concepts, data modelling, and data management, and familiarity with cloud-based Big Data platforms and practices. Basic knowledge of SAP systems, proficiency in Python or R, and experience with Azure Cloud Platform are also beneficial.

What will you do – responsibilities
Data Governance and Data Quality Support:
• Assist in designing, implementing, and supporting data governance, data quality and master data management solutions within the organization under the guidance of senior team members
• Work with relevant teams to monitor, rectify and improve data quality
• Proactively identify opportunities to further improve the current solutions
• Perform data profiling tasks under the guidance of senior team members, helping to assess the quality of data.
• Act as an advocate for Data Governance within the organization, promoting its importance and driving its understanding and adoption
• Assist Data Stewards in defining and creating Data Quality dashboards using Power BI
Data Management and Catalog Maintenance:
• Help and contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the corporate Data Catalogue, ensuring accurate metadata management and data classification
• Assist in creating and implementing processes for data/metadata collection, storage, use, and governance in the corporate Big Data Platform
• Learn and understand these data management processes to effectively contribute to the team's data management effort
Data Analysis and Project Collaboration:
• Contribute to the development of advanced data models to drive business insights and decision-making, addressing common challenges related to data silos and ensuring data consistency across all systems
• Collaborate and engage in various projects and initiatives related to Data Governance and MD
Technical Support and Documentation:
• Support the team in troubleshooting data-related problems and performance issues using debugging and problem-solving techniques
• Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base, documenting common issues and their resolutions
• Familiarize with established corporate IT procedures related to change, demand and incident managemenT
Continuing Education and Teamwork
• Stay updated with the latest trends in data governance and management, especially those related to Microsoft Platform
• Work as part of a global, multinational Data & Analytics team in a dynamic, challenging environment
• Share insights and knowledge gained from these events with the team
• Proactively seek out learning opportunities to enhance understanding of data governance and managemen
Who are we looking for – requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience in enterprise development/modeling in at least one of the following technologies/platforms:
- Power BI: Data modeling, dashboard/visualization creation, Power Query, DAX formulas, and understanding of data warehousing concepts/models.
- Power Apps and Power Automate: Design and development.
- Data Engineering: Code-oriented development, preferably using Spark.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages, including joins, aggregations, and subqueries.
• Knowledge of data governance practices and business/technology issues related to managing enterprise information assets.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Strong communication skills: Ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile Principles and the SCRUM framework.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications (Pluses):
• 1+ years of experience with cloud-based Big Data platforms, Data Quality, Data Catalog solutions, and Data Analytics, preferably leveraging Microsoft Technologies (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Power BI, MS Purview, Databricks, Spark, etc.).
• Basic understanding of machine learning and AI algorithms for data processing and analysis.
• Practical experience with programming languages/libraries such as Python, R, PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, etc., specifically for data processing, ETL, and data modeling frameworks.
• Hands-on experience working with various data formats like CSV, JSON, Parquet, Delta Lake, or XML, using programming languages for data processing
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing codebases in a collaborative environment.
• Practical experience with data quality tools, data cataloging solutions, or similar software.
• Ability to drive innovation and solve complex tasks using modern technologies and approaches in a challenging environment
