Description - Data Governance Manager Join the team as a Data Governance Manager on a vibrant, multidisciplinary team driving innovation through trusted and well-managed data. In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and stewardship programs to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance. You’ll collaborate closely with data stewards, business leaders, and technical teams to embed governance into everyday decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to shape our data culture and support transformative insights across the organization. Main Responsibilities: ● Establish and maintain a data governance framework aligned with industry standards such as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM. ● Define and enforce data governance policies, processes, and ownership models across business units. ● Lead initiatives to classify metadata, create business glossaries, and manage metadata tools like Informatica, Collibra or Alation. ● Develop and monitor KPIs to track data quality, identifying and resolving systemic issues. ● Oversee data lineage initiatives and ensure traceability of data across systems using tools like Informatica EDC or Apache Atlas. ● Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to data privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and Law 25 (Quebec). ● Implement and manage master and reference data management processes using platforms such as Informatica MDM. ● Build and facilitate data stewardship programs, including conflict resolution among data owners and stakeholders. ● Partner with IT and business leaders to align governance models with enterprise data strategy and architecture. ● Support change management and adoption efforts to foster a culture of data accountability and literacy. Additional Skills & Qualifications ● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field. ● 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles in complex organizations. ● Proven expertise with industry frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK, COBIT, or DCAM. ● Hands-on experience with metadata management tools such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, or Atlan. ● Solid understanding of data quality dimensions, issue remediation strategies, and escalation models. ● Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and implementation of controls such as consent tracking and access audits. ● Experience managing master/reference data including creation of golden records and hierarchy alignment. ● Strong capability in data lineage mapping and using impact analysis tools for traceability and audits. ● Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, councils, and data stewardship initiatives. ● Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills across business and technical teams.
