The Data Excellence Specialist will be responsible for driving and delivering best in class data governance practices and promoting their adherence across the organization. This role is key in ensuring that data is managed, understood, and used in a standardised and consistent manner across the business. The Specialist will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure compliance to data governance frameworks, best practices, and standardized processes, enabling the availability and utilisation of high quality data, supporting business insights and decision-making. This position will promote a culture of data excellence and continuous improvement
Your responsibilities would include:
Performing continuous and ad-hoc data quality assessments and checks, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems Leading and delivering data-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and quality delivery on priorities and objectives Developing, storing and communicating training and educational resources (e.g., workshops, online courses, and documentation) to relevant stakeholders Identifying opportunities based on data governance trends, security standards, data privacy regulations, technologies and various external best practices Championing a culture of continuous learning, encouraging stakeholders to enhance their data skills and awareness (learn-share-reapply)
You are a good candidate if you have: Bachelor/Master’s degree in computer science, data science/analytics, IT systems other related studies 4-6 years of relevant experience, ideally in data governance field Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DAMA) Proven experience in applying data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices Proven experience in tracking, monitoring and reporting on data governance KPIs Knowledge and ideally experience in working with data management tools, platforms, and technologies Strong prioritisation skills to deliver high quality output in a timely manner Strong communication skills, ability to understand business needs / challenges and provide clear solutions Overall interest and affinity to data management models and best practices
Nice to have: Relevant certifications in data governance or privacy (e.g., CIPM, CDMP) Experience in cross-functional and cross-cultural communication
