Position:   Data Engineering Manager 1

POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY  

NCR Voyix is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Manager to join our team. This role is a senior independent contributor position, focusing on managing data systems and projects, not people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing, maintaining, and managing data systems, advanced reporting, analytics, and other BI solutions.

This position will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems through creating algorithms, conducting statistical analysis and striving for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals. He/She will collaborate with various teams across the NCR Voyix in order to develop and deliver efficient solutions to enable business insights and decisions.  

Key Areas of Responsibility: 

Develop and maintain advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions using tools available in the landscape including and not limited to Power Bi, custom Microsoft based reporting solution, etc  

Handle SQL language and cloud-based technologies  

Involve in managing data architecture within the organization’s platforms ensuring datasets are in the ideal format & stored correctly as per the business need. This includes collaborating with IT for any changes, migrations, and data quality issues. 

Create relationship & hierarchy models and representation of the datasets within the BI platforms. 

Support BI Developers on data initiatives ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. 

Acts as the team’s data pipeline builder & wrangler.  Perform data validation, data modeling, produce data samples/prototypes and produce ad hoc reports.  

Obtain and analyze data by accessing multiple sources, including Databricks and other data warehouses. Demonstrate strong T-SQL skills to enable agile data analysis and data preparation for front end BI implementation.  

Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery and automating manual processes.  

Basic Qualifications 

5+ years of experience as a Data/Reporting/IT Analyst and/or Engineer 

3+ years of experience and expertise in Power BI driven dashboard/analytics design, development and implementation 

Bachelor’s degree within a technical/ business related field or equivalent experience 

Strong knowledge using SQL, M, DAX, VBA, Python and can create semantic models and views in Databricks. 

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Fabric and Azure cloud architecture 

Experience in design, development, implementation, troubleshooting and support of ETL process. 

Expertise in developing, maintaining and experience in managing/leading Power BI driven dashboards & analytics,  

Experience in architecting, designing, developing BI and other analytical, reporting solutions using standard BI tools.  

Experience in working with several groups of data and users simultaneously.  
  

Skill Requirements 

Excellent scripting skills, particularly M, DAX, SQL, VBA, Python and being able to manipulate large volumes of data quickly and summarize effectively. 

Technical knowledge in data modelling, data mining and segmentation techniques 

Advance hands-on experience with SQL  

Good written and spoken English communication skills and can work effectively with stakeholders at different levels in the organization.  

Organize, prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
