AWS Fintech team is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to transform and optimize high-scale, world class financial systems that power the global AWS business. The success of these systems will fundamentally impact the profitability and financial reporting for AWS and Amazon.

This position will play an integral role in leading programs that impact multiple AWS cost optimization initiatives. These programs will involve multiple development teams across diverse organizations to build sophisticated, highly reliable financial systems. These systems enable routine finance operations as well as machine learning, analytics, and GenAI reporting that enable AWS Finance to optimize profitability and free cash flow.

This position requires a proactive, highly organized individual with an aptitude for data-driven decision making, a deep curiosity for learning new systems, and collaborative skills to work with both technical and financial teams.


Key job responsibilities
Build and lead a team of data engineers, application development engineers, and systems development engineers

Drive execution of data engineering programs and projects

Help our leadership team make challenging decisions by presenting well-reasoned and data-driven solution proposals and prioritizing recommendations.

Identify and execute on opportunities for our organization to move faster in delivering innovations to our customers.
