**Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

As a Data Engineer I, AI&ET, you will collaborate with leaders, technologists and data and analytic experts across Travelers to drive holistic strategic efforts. In this highly visible role, we will look to you to:
• Build and maintain robust CICD pipelines that enable seamless deployment of AI/ML models and data solutions across the enterprise
• Design and implement DevOps practices that support the complete application and model development lifecycle from development to production
• Play a key role in growing and transforming our analytics and technology infrastructure through automation and best practices

**What Will You Do?**
+ **Design, build, and maintain comprehensive CICD pipelines** using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other automation tools to support continuous integration and deployment of AI/ML models and data applications
+ **Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** using Terraform or the AWS CDK to provision and manage cloud resources, ensuring consistent and scalable environments across development, staging, and production
+ **Orchestrate containerized applications** using Kubernetes and Docker to ensure reliable deployment and scaling of AI/ML workloads
+ **Manage cloud infrastructure** on AWS, implementing best practices for security, monitoring, and cost optimization
+ **Automate the complete model development lifecycle** , including automated testing, validation, deployment, and monitoring of machine learning models
+ **Develop automation scripts** in Python to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency
+ Support data pipeline operations and basic data transformations to enable AI/ML initiatives
+ **Collaborate with development teams** to establish and enforce CICD best practices and deployment standards
+ **Monitor and troubleshoot** production systems, implementing proactive solutions to prevent issues
+ **Implement security and compliance measures** throughout the deployment pipeline
+ Perform other duties as assigned
**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ **Extensive experience with CICD tools and practices** , particularly GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and automated deployment strategies for AI/ML applications
+ **Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code** using Terraform for cloud resource management and environment provisioning
+ **Advanced Kubernetes and containerization skills** , including experience with Docker, container orchestration, and microservices architecture
+ **Comprehensive AWS cloud platform experience** , including EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, and other relevant services
+ **Python programming expertise** for automation, scripting, and integration with various DevOps tools
+ **Deep understanding of the complete application and model development lifecycle** , from code commit through production deployment and monitoring
+ **Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions** for both infrastructure and applications
+ **Proven track record in building scalable, reliable deployment pipelines** that support high-availability production systems
+ Basic familiarity with data processing and ML model deployment requirements
+ **Strong problem-solving and debugging skills** across complex distributed systems
+ **Excellent collaboration and communication skills** with ability to work across technical and business teams
+ **Leadership capabilities** with experience mentoring team members on DevOps best practices
+ **Passion for automation and continuous improvement** in software delivery processes
**What is a Must Have?**
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training with data tools, techniques, and manipulation.
+ Four years of data engineering or equivalent experience.
