About the role

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Development & Data Factory team, which is integrated into the Digital Technology (DT) department. Data Engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers data-focused solutions. You will be accountable for: Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines across the ETL (extract, load, and transform) pipeline and architectures for processing large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets. Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions. Creating, developing, and maintaining data transformation algorithms.  Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security through comprehensive testing and governance practices. Developing data transformation and integration workflows to support analytics and reporting. Optimizing existing data pipelines for performance and reliability. Implementing best data storage, processing, and retrieval practices for on-premise and cloud-based platforms. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving data pipeline and system issues. We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode.

 

About you

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a comparable field. Relevant work experience in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence  Competencies: Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps/DataOps. Experience in requirements, data engineering, solution architecture, and Development. Experience in integrating data into analytical platforms. Experience with ingestion technologies like Data Factory, Dbt, or similar.  Experience in data profiling, source-target mappings, ELT development, SQL optimization, testing, and implementation. Expertise in SQL & other data manipulation languages are essential (Python, R).​ Behaviors: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of analytical thinking to develop effective data solutions. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, contributing to the overall success of projects. Display a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for ways to enhance data processes and systems. Exhibit effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

About the pay and benefits

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country (Portugal) base pay reasonably expected for this role is 38 960 euros to 58 400 euros, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
