Data Engineer - Data Modeling
**CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer – Data Modeling opening for our client in Houston, TX.** **Location:** Houston, TX **Duration:** 6 months **Description:** The Data Engineer – Data Modeling will design and implement data models for applications and related systems, translating business needs into logical and physical data models. The role requires strong expertise in data modeling tools and techniques, including ERWin, MDM, and/or ETL, to support data integration, governance, and analytics initiatives. **Duties:** + Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data models. + Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models to support business processes and reporting needs. + Implement data architecture standards, governance, and best practices. + Utilize modeling tools such as ERWin or equivalent for data design and documentation. + Support data integration processes using ETL/ELT frameworks. + Optimize database performance and data structures for scalability and efficiency. + Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across systems. + Provide technical guidance and mentorship on data modeling concepts and practices. **Skills:** + Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and methodologies. + Expertise in data modeling tools (e.g., ERWin). + Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, optimization, and transformation. + Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes. + Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence platforms. + Knowledge of master data management (MDM) principles. + Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms (preferred). **Experience:** + 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, or related fields. + Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable data models. + Experience working with relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms. + Background in supporting enterprise-level data integration and analytics solutions. **Education:** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
