The **Data Engineer** builds data pipelines and integrates sources for use in dashboards, analytics, and compliance reporting. The **Data Engineer** ensures data is secured through testing, implementation, design, and monitoring. **Responsibilities** + Manage and coordinate with internal or external parties the collection, compilation, normalization, and standard analysis of data assets across diverse projects and data platforms. + Develop, maintain, evaluate, and test valuates data solutions within an organization. + Develop and execute plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of the organization's data and information assets and programs. + Collect, store, process, and analyze raw and/or complex data from multiple sources, recommend ways to apply the data, choose and design optimal data solutions, and build data processing systems, using expertise in data warehousing solutions and working with the latest database technologies. + Maintain, implement, and monitor the quality of the data and information with the architecture used across the company; report on results and identifies and recommends system application changes required to improve the quality of data in all applications. + Investigate data quality problems, conduct analysis to determine root causes of problems, correct errors, and develop prototypes, process improvement plans across all programs, and proof of concepts for the selected solutions. + Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis, followed by doing the analysis. + Integrate innovations and algorithms into the organization's data systems, working closely with engineering team. + Implement complex data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms. + Establish safety protocols to protect all data collected and used by the organization. + Ensuring the compliance of policy, processes, and procedures throughout the day-to-day management of the organization. + Work closely with the client to assist in managing data needs and supporting collection of data needed for various operational needs. + Data analysis, problem solving, investigation and creative thinking with massive amount of data supporting variety of operational scenarios and responsible for source code control using GitLab. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, IT, or business-related programs + 4+ years of experience in building data pipelines, integrating sources for use in dashboards, analytics, and compliance reporting. + Cybersecurity certifications like CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) are desired + Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (Security+ certification) desired. + Must have active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Experience in Python, SQL required + Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, etc. and migrating customers/projects to the cloud + Experience working in Unix/Linux environment + Experience with Database query tuning and other performance enhancement methodology is a plus. + Experience with NoSQL database + Experience working in cloud infrastructures + Must have high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and possess advanced skills and knowledge in programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook + Must have understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and + hybrid cloud environments + Agile Scrum Certifications desired + Knowledge of Continuous Integration & Continuous Development tools (CI/CD). + Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and/or BI tools like Power BI or Business Objects (BO) and data analysis tools. + Experience with Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence. + Experience extracting, transforming, and structuring data to support both exploratory analytics and operational reporting. + Strong creative and visual storytelling skills with an eye for design, usability, and user experience. + Use expert knowledge of data visualization tools to deliver information that allows client users to quickly understand data, ask better questions, and take action. + Possess knowledge and experience with data analysis and data technical expertise in data management, engineering, and science. + Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines. + Ability to work both independently and within a team. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. + Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements. + Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. + Ability to travel up to 10%. **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
