Job Description
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join a dynamic Agile Scrum development team. The candidate will leverage Azure Synapse Analytics for data ingestion, processing, and modeling of both structured and unstructured data. This role involves building and managing data pipelines, conducting data profiling, validation, and developing complex data transformations using Python or other languages. The successful candidate will ensure efficient operations while crafting innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
ResponsibilitiesContribute as a member of an Agile Scrum development team.Leverage Azure Synapse Analytics for data ingestion, processing, and modeling of structured and unstructured data.Build and manage data pipelines, conduct data profiling, and data validation.Develop complex data transformations using Python or other languages.Collaborate with cross-functional and business teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions.Leverage cloud data and analytics technical best practices, standards, governance, and processes for the enterprise.Execute technical feasibility assessments, solution estimations, and proposals for data & analytics solutions.Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Perform other duties as assigned.Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations in business conduct.Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures.Essential SkillsAzure or AWS cloud platforms.SAP data handling.Proficiency in Python.Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field and 3-5 years of progressive experience in data engineering.Experience with cloud data integration/processing (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Spark).Proficient in developing with Python and on Spark (PySpark, Java or Scala), Spark SQL.Experience with analytics databases like Synapse Dedicated SQL, Teradata, or Snowflake.Experience with data lake platforms such as Azure Data Lake or Amazon S3.Solid understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.Full lifecycle experience implementing data & analytics solutions with agile development (Scrum), and DevOps processes and tools (Git, GitHub etc).Understanding of data science tools, solutions, model lifecycles, to support machine learning and analytics models.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of SAP data models and processes.Experience in extracting and transforming SAP data.Work Environment
The role is part of a small team of experienced Data Architects and business analysts working on an Agile Scrum team. The focus will be on migrating from a legacy SAP BW data warehouse to enable advanced analytics and AI on the cloud data lakehouse for finance, manufacturing, procurement, and human resources. The work environment encourages collaboration, innovation, and adherence to best practices in data engineering.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
