Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architecture that support business intelligence and operational needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and actionable across the organization.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using AWS Glue, Snowflake, Talend, and Python.Manage data storage and organization on Amazon S3 and Snowflake, ensuring optimized access, cost efficiency, and data integrity.Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and load data into Amazon Redshift and Snowflake for analytics and reporting.Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure system reliability and data quality.Apply best practices in data architecture, security, compliance, and governance.Contribute to the design and evolution of our data infrastructure and tooling strategy.Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, pipelines, and architecture decisions.Essential Skills3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role working with large-scale data processing systems.Proficiency in Python for scripting and pipeline development.Experience designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue and Talend.Managed cloud-based data storage using Amazon S3, with a strong attention to detail and data governance awareness.Experience building and maintaining data models and analytical environments in Amazon Redshift and Snowflake.Clear communication skills for translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Amazon CloudWatch and DataDog.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Agile/Scrum environments, integrating feedback and iterating on solutions.Knowledge of ways to improve Talend processes is a huge bonus.Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with data engineering trends, tools, and best practices.Work Environment
The role involves working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, leveraging modern data platforms and tools such as AWS, Snowflake, Talend, and Python. The position requires a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance, with an emphasis on maintaining system reliability and data quality.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
