We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Philippines. This role will apply your specialist skills to design, build, and deploy high-quality data solutions that enable smarter, data-driven decisions across the business.This hands-on role will involve working across a variety of modern data technologies including cloud-native data platforms (GCP, Azure), machine learning model deployment, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), master data and governance tools, and analytics/visualisation platforms. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Work with team members and business SMEs to understand business problems, opportunities, data requirements, and technical needsBuild and deploy back-end software services, data applications/services, and APIsDesign, implement, and support data pipelines and integrations on cloud platformsProductionise machine learning models in collaboration with Data Scientists and ML EngineersDocument key components and share knowledge across squads and chaptersEnsure compliance with data governance, privacy, security, and technology standardsCollaborate effectively with cross-functional squads and attend agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning)Support infrastructure deployment using DevOps practices and infrastructure as codeProvide third-level support and participate in the change management process when requiredAssist with operational handover to support teams for newly developed solutions

 

What Will Help You Succeed

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar roleSolid backend development experience, particularly with Python and APIsProven ability to build and maintain cloud data pipelines on GCPExperience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache SparkStrong working knowledge of Python, PySpark, and SQLGood understanding of databases and data structures (both relational and non-relational)Experience working in Agile teams and sprint-based environmentsFamiliarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code practicesExperience with object-oriented programming, unit testing, and test-driven development (TDD)

 

Desirable Skills

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Azure DatabricksFamiliarity with secure coding practices and handling PII dataExperience working with both structured and unstructured dataExposure to retail datasets, including in-store and eCommerce dataUnderstanding of data science workflows and experience productionising ML models
