Job Description

Lead the design, implementation, and improvement of data insight capabilities, with a strong emphasis on integrating external data sources into internal systems. Champion initiatives that improve external data quality, automate analytics processes, and drive fact-based decision-making. Work cross-functionally to manage technical and strategic relationships with data partners, while evolving business intelligence capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and strategic growth.

Data Integration & External Data Management

Lead efforts to identify, acquire, and integrate data from multiple external sources into internal data ecosystems.

Define and implement data ingestion pipelines that ensure timely, scalable, and secure incorporation of third-party data into local systems.

Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and data providers to formalize data sharing agreements, integration protocols, and delivery mechanisms.

Establish robust data quality frameworks for external data sources—driving cleansing, enrichment, validation, and reconciliation processes.

Design and implement monitoring mechanisms to detect anomalies or quality issues in inbound external data.

Develop and execute strategies for managing external data risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Data Strategy, Insights & Analytics

Build comprehensive tools and strategies that allow raw data to be transformed into business insights.

Support the creation of self-service analytics, reports, and dashboards that incorporate both sourced and internal datasets.

Leverage statistical techniques and machine learning to deliver actionable insights that solve complex strategic and operational challenges.

Manage large, complex datasets and automate standard reporting for operations, regulatory requirements, and executive decision-making.

Establish frameworks to enhance data usability and enable self-service analytics across business units.

Data Engineering & Technical Leadership

Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data integration solutions using modern data engineering tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Airflow, Kafka).

Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to design optimal data models, storage, and retrieval strategies.

Ensure adherence to data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging standards to improve transparency and access.

Ensure data pipelines are aligned with reporting requirements and that reflect accurate and timely insights.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

Build and maintain productive relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure data priorities align with business needs.

Manage vendor and third-party relationships to negotiate data access, quality improvement plans, and technical enablement support.

Develop and lead initiatives to continuously enhance collaboration between analytics, business, and IT teams.

Continuous Improvement & Service Delivery

Monitor, evaluate, and optimize the performance of data workflows, proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.

Provide expert advice on best practices for external data sourcing, data integration, and analytics.

Champion data-driven culture across the business through knowledge sharing, training, and capability uplift.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related discipline.

5–8 years’ experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering roles, ideally with a focus on integrating third-party data.

Technical expertise in tools such as Python, R, SQL, and cloud-based ETL tools (e.g. AWS Databricks, AWS Glue, etc.).

Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlikview).

Familiarity with data quality frameworks, governance principles, and master data management.

Proven experience managing relationships with external data providers or vendors.

Short-Term Insurance industry knowledge is an advantage.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
