What this job involves

Coordination with DC Colocation provider on all maintenance activities

Work with Client BU and colocation provider for PPM schedules

Ensure all PPM activities and adhoc work are captured inside the Change Order process.

Coordinate with DC Colocation provider on all incidents, and manage to resolution

Work with team to manage Power and Cooling capacity management

Ensure the Data Hall environment is within SLA guidelines at all times.

Coordinate Colocation performance reporting and capacity management

Responsible for capacity reporting

Manage all incident reporting / escalation in relation to facilities related issues.

Take queries from Client to facilitate in-depth troubleshooting and backend analysis.

Provide extensive troubleshooting support, as needed.

Support Service Management and related processes (e.g., Service Request, Incident, Change) by creating, updating, and closing associated tickets.  Oversee and support Physical access processes to maintain secure Data Centre facilities.

Play an active role in managing the execution of the Power Maintenance Events.

Support physical audits and ensure the Service Management database is updated and accurate.

Collaborate and maintain business relationships to meet and exceed client expectations with respect to business as usual and project activities.

Coordinate projects – Data Centre Solution tools, space planning, power requirements, cabling requirements. Work with Client/Vendor, order cables and related supplies.

Allocate job tasks to staff. May maintain staff’s shift scheduling and approve timecards.

Act as a point of escalation.

Develops and nurtures strong relationships with other technology organizations and identifies opportunities to provide additional service capabilities.

Assists in managing performance and developing a team comprised of up to 4 direct reports assisting management in recruiting, development, retention, performance reviews, recommending candidates for promotion, and managing performance improvement plans.

Partners with the Critical Environment team to plan and execute agreed power maintenance events.

Participates in data centre provisioning forums and reviews industry standards for whitespace planning to improve time to market, quality, consistency, and accuracy across assigned data centres.

Fosters a culture of customer-focused behaviours and continuous operational improvement.

Participates in the delivery of data centre optimization and closure programs.

Interested?  An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.

 At leaset 3 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility.

Resourceful, analytical and problem-solving skill

Good communications and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client, client stakeholders and vendor staff

Posses relevant DC certifications

Understands continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship and preparation of reports.

Strong understanding of Data Centre Power schemes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
