Data Business Analyst

Job Description The Data Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions within an organization. Business
Analysts are involved in analyzing and understanding business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and facilitating
communication between different stakeholders. Their primary objective is to ensure that business requirements are clearly defined and that
the solutions developed align with the overall goals of the organization.The BA is the primary liaison between product experience
stakeholders, who understands business needs structure, processes, policies and operations. The role is tasked to assess and recommend
impacts of changes that enable the organization to achieve its goals; captures, analyzes and documents requirements.

Requirement Clarification and Data Discovery:

Collaborates with business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous or high-level requirements

Conducts data discovery and profiling activities to validate initial assumptions, identify relevant data assets, understand current data flows

Proactively identifies and resolves conflicting business requirements or data discrepancies

Requirements Translation and Technical Specification:

Translates clarified business requirements and discovered data insights into detailed, precise, and testable technical specifications tailored for data solution implementation.

Collaborates closely with Data Architects to ensure translated requirements align with data architecture principles and standards.

Engages with Data Engineers to provide sufficient technical detail and ensure feasibility for development.

Data Testing Support:

Works directly with Data Flow Testers to develop comprehensive test plans, , test cases, and expected results, ensuring alignment with translated requirements.

 Assists in validating developed data solutions against original business requirements

Technical Team Liaison and Communication:

Acts as the primary conduit for data requirement discussions between business users and technical data teams, ensuring clear and consistent understanding.

Manages expectations and communicates progress, challenges, and solutions effectively throughout the requirements lifecycle.

 Reduction in user-reported issues.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of of progressive experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a similar role focused on data requirements and solutions.

Proven track record of successfully translating complex business problems into actionable data requirements for large-scale data projects.

Significant experience with data-related projects, such as data ingestion, integration, and reporting solutions

Familiarity with data modeling, data mapping, and working with large datasets

 Experience in dashboard creation and reporting using tools like Google Looker Studio, Tableau, or other BI platforms

 Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders (demand owners, business teams, and technical teams)

 Strong background in negotiating requirements, resolving conflicts, and managing expectations.

Level of Knowledge:

 Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field.

 5+ years of experience in business analysis or product management roles.

 Proficiency in relevant software tools and methodologies.

Certifications:

Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification is desirable.
