**Position Description:**
CGI is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to join our growing team supporting life science clients through end-to-end solution offerings and professional services. This individual must be able to work in a cross-functional environment and interact with representatives from CGI, and our end-clients.
This position is located in our New Brunswick, NJ or Boston, MA offices in a hybrid manner.
**Your future duties and responsibilities:**
• Lead and oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive data solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture strategy and adherence to governance standards
• Translate high-level business and functional requirements into data models, metadata, and data dictionaries
• Design and implement AI/ML-enabled data architectures that support advanced analytics, GenAI applications, machine learning initiatives and ensure responsible AI practices
• Work closely with data engineers to implement and deploy data pipelines and data integration solutions using technologies such as Snowflake, Informatica, AWS/Azure, and Python
• Create and maintain current and target-state data architecture roadmaps aligned with business needs and roadmaps
• Streamline and simplify existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Optimize data processes to improve efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance overall system performance
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across domains to understand data requirements and challenges
• Evaluate product usefulness and cost in the supplier selection process
• Establish strategic direction, choose technologies, and set standards for data governance processes
• Lead and participate in peer review and quality assurance of architectural artifacts through governance forums
• Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data, ensuring strict adherence to security protocols and privacy standards
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data management and analytics
**Required qualifications to be successful in this role:**
• Understanding of the life sciences/pharma industry and its specific data architecture requirements
• Solid years of experience in Data Architecture, specializing in technologies such as
• Extensive background in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions, including data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• Experience with data-processing systems (OLTP vs. OLAP – normalization vs. denormalization)
• Experience working with SQL, relational/NoSQL databases, data query optimization and data warehousing technologies
• Experience in data governance practices and policies to manage sensitive data effectively
• Experience with encryption, data masking, and data anonymization techniques
• Proven ability to translate functional requirements into technical/solution design, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Experience with GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR regulations and ensuring compliance in data solution design
• Strong experience with agile-based development methodologies
• Detail-oriented, customer-driven, and able to work well across time zones on a global team
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, SQL, CLI)
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Demonstrate professional and reliable behavior on a consistent basis.
Other Information:
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $106,200.00 - $185,800.00.
