The impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

 

As a Data and Trust Manager supporting TELUS Health you will influence TELUS’ innovation in the health and wellness sector. You will work with a cross-functional group focused on supporting the growth of the business along with the development, deployment, and use of new digital technologies. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure that digital health and wellbeing solutions not only comply with the privacy laws and regulations, but that best practices and innovative privacy approaches are in place to earn the trust of our customers.

At the same time, you will be an integral member of the Health Privacy team supporting TELUS Health through Privacy Impact Assessments, playbooks and tools, and guidance within a health and wellness context. You will advocate for TELUS’ Trust Model as the fundamental driver for all our decisions around data, privacy and innovation recognizing the fundamental role that trust plays in TELUS’ mission.

You will ensure that all TELUS Health initiatives meet our rigorous privacy, security and ethical standards. You will collaborate with, advise and guide the business in addressing privacy and data considerations in a manner that demonstrates TELUS commitment to putting customers and their privacy first.

Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, identify risks and provide corresponding recommendations Support the development of a data program that meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers while simultaneously ensuring TELUS’ ability to respectfully leverage data to deliver value to our stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adherence to the TELUS’ Trust Model Document, prioritize, and communicate clear privacy requirements for product initiatives and releases Add value and support business units to deploy or leverage technology, including AI,  ethically by providing expert advice and counsel to execute on TELUS’ data handling frameworks Assist in designing and documenting processes that standardize best practices and support an agile development methodology Monitor privacy trends in the internal and external environment and advise on impact to TELUS Health’s information and privacy practices Learn continuously, innovate every day and seek opportunities to develop and demonstrate thought-leadership

What you bring 

 

German/English bilingual capabilities is a requirement for this role Recognized for your knowledge and expertise in applying privacy laws, from both a Canadian and Global context, and guidance in a healthcare, mental health services, disability case management or health-related context  Recognized for your leadership capabilities to collaborate and accomplish goals with others, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams where required Trusted as a collaborative colleague who will act with integrity to fulfill TELUS’ commitments to its customers Known for your ability to influence and negotiate effectively, to be a persuasive advocate Noted conflict resolution and interpersonal skills with a focus on win-win solutions at all times/strong collaborative skills to work with the business as a partner Ability to deal with ambiguity and complex concepts Ability to take initiative and be proactive in identifying opportunities to support and enhance respect for privacy Post-secondary education IAPP or CDPSE certified (or willing to become certified within 6 months)- CIPP/C, CIPP/E, or CIPT preferred

 

Great-to-haves

 

Experience working with digital health, mental health and wellbeing systems like Electronic Medical Records, Clinical Information Systems, Case Management Systems or wellness platforms Legal background/experience  Project management experience
