We are seeking someone to join our team as a Data & Analytics Team Lead.
AI and Data Technology (AIDT) is a horizontal, dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division.
AIDT is a team of data scientists, solutions architects, business analysts, developers, security engineers and QA specialists, applying cutting-edge technology to enable data-driven initiatives across Wealth Management. We are transforming the way our business, financial advisors and clients use data to make smarter decisions-creating new capabilities that differentiate us on the Street.
As an integral part of AI & Data Tech (AIDT), the Sandbox team is tasked with providing a high-performance, highly reliable analytics and data integration platform, leveraging the latest technologies in cloud (Snowflake, DataBricks, DataIKU) and advanced analytics to a wide variety of users and use cases.
As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for both being hands on and leading a team of professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and quality of work.
You will provide input and work with leadership in strategic planning for Sandbox Area, work with project management and help our business partner's success.

This is a Data & Analytics Team Lead position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

What you'll do in the role:
Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and development oversight.
Taking point for developing Cloud solutions and participating in migration efforts from legacy technologies.
Participate in end-to-end project delivery from inception to post-implementation support.
Analyse existing designs and interfaces, applying design modifications or enhancements.
Provide insights and resolution for ad-hoc issues raised by Sandbox users.
Test software components and complete solutions, including debugging and troubleshooting, performance tuning and other activities as needed to ensure Sandbox runs smooth and delivery is unhindered.
Provide reporting-line transparency through periodic updates on project or task status.
Perform root cause analysis of issues and design solutions as required with partner teams.
Provide support to issue resolution as needed, which may happen in late hours.
Participate in Friday/Weekend releases - team release cadence in currently Monthly, but other team's releases may impact the space
What you'll bring to the role:
Experience in leading a small team of developers
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data space position - preferably data engineer or similar.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Computer Science/Engineering.
Experienced with the technical analysis, design, development, and implementation of Data Lake and cloud data solutions.
Hands-on experience in Hadoop, Snowflake, or DataBricks, with the ability to optimize performance.
Strong RDBMS and data warehousing concepts.
Strong SQL skills with a focus on data integration, ETL, and ELT.
UNIX Shell scripting or Python experience to support data warehousing solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - this job requires interfacing with many teams and a community of users.
Ability to manage multiple small engagements alongside to a few large simultaneously and prioritize, then delegate tasks effectively for the team.
Nice to have:
Deep knowledge of Snowflake and/or DataBricks
Experience with Data Analytics tools such as DataIKU, Tableau, or Alteryx.
Experience in optimizing very large data loads.
Experience with detailed error/exception handling and data validation issues.
Experience in designing ETL solutions and data conversion strategies.
Experience in Agile methodology.
Experience in developing, managing, and maintaining data dictionaries or metadata
