Data Analyst (M/F/D)
The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a data-driven and experienced Data Analyst to join our team in Stevenage, UK. You’ll be the primary contact for the Inventory Manager (IM) software and site analytics, managing inventory metrics, service KPIs, and driving process improvements through data-driven insights.

** This is a remote role with occasional travel to client sites in Stevenage, typically a couple of times per month, so ideally you’ll be based within driving distance and hold a valid driving licence **

This role will be a full-time, permanent position based at a leading pharmaceutical research and development site in Stevenage, UK. The facility is part of a major bioscience hub focused on advancing innovation in areas such as cell and gene therapy, and supports global efforts in life sciences research. The Team


You’ll be part of Avantor’s Lab and Production Services (LPS) team, working closely with internal logistics, global metric support, and GSK stakeholders to ensure seamless inventory and service operations. This role is key to driving data-led decisions and continuous improvement across the site.

What we’re looking for

Minimum 5 years’ experience in stock management, analytics, or related fields, preferably in a scientific environmentValid driver’s licenseProficiency in Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft OfficeStrong understanding of Lean Six Sigma, project management, and inventory systemsExcellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver high-quality customer service

How you’ll thrive and create an impact

Manage all Inventory Manager (IM) administration tasks on-site, including Stock Keeping Units setup, stockroom updates, and service task requirementsAnalyse IM consumption metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements to inventory and service processesDeliver monthly metric packages and reports to GSK stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-makingLead PI cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and monitor slow-moving or expired stock to maintain inventory accuracyAct as the key liaison between and internal logistics teams, ensuring alignment on service levels and complianceSupport predictive modelling and process improvement initiatives to enhance Avantor’s Lab & Production Services capabilities on-site
